About Dominic

As arguably as one of Arizona's best point guards behind Mike Bibby, Dominic Himmons as emerged as one of the most creative quickest guards in the world of Professional Basketball. Being known as one the the quickest quards in the American Basketball Association in the 2007-08 season, Himmons has also been known as a great leader with his unselfishness, sacrifice, hardwork, and preaching about how self goals only get in the way of team goals. Avg 10pts, 4ast, 1stl in his rookie season, Himmons determination to get better will make him soon one of the games greatest point guards.

"I know who I am and I know where I came from. I have no shame because I wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't come from where I came...."

                                                                      Dominic Himmons

 Desert Hills Boys Basketball 2007-08

As Dominic begain his senior year, his will to become the greatest player in the school's history and also a high school legend in the state of Arizona was at hand.

Being the first player to be a McDonald's High School All American mention in the history of charter school basketball, starting no.1 in the high school polls, the player state rankings, player position rankings, and ranked nationally, Dominic Himmons was determined to be a name to be remembered for years to come as one of the best and in the same breath as Mike Bibby, Richard Jefferson, and Sean Elliot. Averaging 17ppg, 12ast, 6rebs, 4stls, he led his team to a perfect 31-0 record starting no.1 in the state and never looked back bringing home their first ever state championship.

Growing up Dominic Himmons felt he could only get a chance to be seen and recruited through going to a big time 5A school. He was avery good basketbal player with the skills to play in college. His brother was a good basketball but was not given a chance to showcase his skills at his former high school. He decided to take his athletic talent and his academic skills to Desert Hills High School and became an even better player and person. His father decided to send Dominic to Desert Hills also because he felt he would recieve a better education and he wanted his son to set a new trend and change the way people thought about charter high school basketball and charter schools as a whole.
